As an entrepreneur, gallery owner and organizer of exhibitions, Lutz Teutloff has been working for many years to assemble a collection devoted to the topic “The Human Body – A Very Private View”.

His preferred medium in this regard is contemporary photography, which in a wider sense also encompasses photo- and video-installations.

Alongside topics of societal and political relevance, artistic work devoted to the human body has become a source of ever-increasing fascination. One aim of his collection is to develop as themes all facets of the “Human Body”, from its inception to its death, an in every sort of human existence. Of interest here is the varied role of the human body in contemporary society, as a mirror of beauty, the ephemeral, vulnerability, sexuality and the future.

Since the establishment of Gallery Teutloff in 1989 exhibitions with a lot of international acclaimed artists have been organized in Bielefeld, Cologne, Berlin, Philadelphia and Toronto.
